Gulliver's Travels

The Cheap Movie Spot Light

Todays review
Gulliver's Travels

It gets $$$ out of 10 Dollars.

First of id like to say this movie had it's good and bad points to it mainly bad points :-P
I would of just gave it a two dollar sign rating but for this one scene that mad me want to cry.
not give to much away tho Gulliver's Travels recounts the story of Lemuel Gulliver, a practical-minded
Englishman trained as a surgeon who takes to the seas when his business fails. In a deadpan first-person
narrative that rarely shows any signs of self-reflection or deep emotional response, Gulliver narrates the
adventures that befall him on these travels.

On his first voyage, Gulliver is washed ashore after a shipwreck and awakes to find himself a prisoner of a race of people one-twelfth the size of normal human beings, less than 6 inches (15 cm) high, who are inhabitants of the neighbouring and rival countries of Lilliput and Blefuscu. After giving assurances of his good behaviour, he is given a residence in Lilliput and becomes a favourite of the court. From there, the book follows Gulliver's observations on the Court of Lilliput. Gulliver assists the Lilliputians to subdue their neighbours the Blefuscudians by stealing their fleet. However, he refuses to reduce the country to a province of Lilliput, displeasing the King and the court. Gulliver is charged with treason and sentenced to be blinded. With the assistance of a kind friend, Gulliver escapes to Blefuscu, where he spots and retrieves an abandoned boat and sails out to be rescued by a passing ship which safely takes him back home. The Building of residence that Gulliver is given in Lilliput is of note, as in this section he describes it as a temple in which there had some years ago been a murder and the building had been abandoned.

Now getting to the part why i think you're better of not seeing this on the big screen is while Jack Black is a great and funny actor in this movie he lacks any and all acting skills. With this movie
i'm sorry to say the great and mighty Jack Black falls short of anything stupid one liners and his
over all acting in this film falls short of any plot i'v read the book more then once and i most say
I like the book much better for you money you should go to the local book store and pick it up for 6 bucks rather then spending the 12 bucks it cost you to see this horrible movie. do you're self a favor and buy the book read it and then rent this movie and you will see what i'm talking about. It seems as if they just copied and pasted some lines from the book and then randomly decided to say the hell with it and rewrite the book to there liking. For my money the book is better and more worth the money then this movie. Get the book and sit down and have a good read on. Thats why this movie gets $$ dollars out of 10 and that is that from The Cheap Movie Spot Light i'm Dan The Man and i'm turning the out the lights on this Cheap movie enjoy all and Stay tuned for more review as i watch them...
